Research Project

Your task for the third marking period is to complete a research project on International Migration and Refugees.

The goal of this research project is to explore the social, economical, political, and personal reasons that cause emigration of people from your native country to the United States.

Your original work must include the following information organized exactly as displayed, with subheadings in the outline below:

• Introduction - (end with your thesis statement)
• Social Reasons for Emigration
• Economical Reasons for Emigration
• Political Reasons for Emigration
• Personal Reasons for Emigration
• US Ability to Meet Immigration Needs (Can the US provide a better situation to immigrants from your native country? Think about if/how the US answers the concerns in the Reasons for Emigration above. Find data/research to back up your opinion.)
• Decreasing Emigration (What would slow down or stop people from your native country from emigrating to the US? Think about what conditions, in relation to the topics above, would have to change for people to choose to remain in your native countries. Fee free to include personal opinion, but support your ideas with research.
• Conclusion

Collect your research using digital notecards that you will find here and create an account for yourself. Make sure to include all of your references as you go along! You will need these for your bibliography! Keep your eyes out for a separate blog with more details about note cards.
